AI is sucking up vast amounts of electricity _and_ precious fresh water. Some experts estimate that every prompt uses/wastes between 1/2 oz to 16 oz of fresh water.

Is that really so bad?

Well, consider that ChatGPT is being tied into the background functionality of *every* Microsoft product which means it could basically ALWAYS BE ON.
And that's just the implementation of one AI.

Eeep!

(side note: Don't think I want to try an AI produced recipe.)

IF those writing the checks consider it worthy of the necessary time and resources needed to include that sort of logic.

Currently, "AI" is just code that's really good at fuzzy logic, not technically truly intelligent. GIGO still matters.

We do not yet have the guardrails needed for true AI.
