Stunning and inspirational -- Kamala Harris, vice president of the USA, smiles and walks past a portrait of the great Shirley Chisolm.
(I will try to put the photographers' comments in replies.)

VP was headed to her motorcade, after Japanese Prime Minister' Fumio's address to Congress, when I saw that she would be walking by the portrait of Shirley Chisolm. I run ahead and line up for the shot. VP often talks about the women leaders who have come before "whose broad shoulders I stand on."

Shirley Chisolm was definitely one of those leaders. Yes it's a bit cliche but I thought, "Take the picture and decide later." VP saw what I was doing and gave me a wry smile as she walked by the portrait. 99% of the time VP pays no attention to me.
