Don’t come back unless you are bleeding from an artery! You can tell, because the blood spurt arcs pretty high!

I'm solidly gen x and this stereotype has always confused me. I wasn't allowed out of my yard, much less to wander freely. Most of the people I went to school with weren't allowed much freedom either. Maybe it's a geographic/demographic thing?

We were allowed out all day, but remember, back in the 50’s & 60’s, there was a mom home in every house on the street and we were in and out of lots of homes - one blood curdling scream and someone’s mom showed up

50s and 60s would be boomers, not GenX.

GenX had working moms and most of us were latchkey kids. My mom worked 10-hour shifts as a nurse w/hour drive each way, she essentially had no idea if we were alive or dead 12 hours a day.
