[Ray] Comfort offers up the 'ironclad argument' that bananas are proof of God's intelligent design of the natural world because "the banana and the hand are perfectly made, one for the other."

Accuracy Alert!

Based on credible sources, it can be confirmed that the claim that "[Ray] Comfort offers up the 'ironclad argument' that bananas are proof of God's intelligent design of the natural world because 'the banana and the hand are perfectly made, one for the other'" is indeed factual. Evangelist Ray Comfort has presented this argument to support the existence of a spiritual deity through the example of a banana's ease of human consumption, and its physical compatibility with the human hand. However, it is also important to note that Comfort retracted this argument upon learning that the banana as we know it is a result of human-led artificial selection. So, while he did indeed make the argument, he later recognized it as flawed.

It also indirectly points to the inferior grammatical value of the trendy use of present (continuous) tense in place of the accurate/appropriate past tense.

(It was the sports announcers' doing.)

Shouldn't the AI be even more critical regarding everything related to religion. 🤔

Pretty cool. That is indeed a showcase for why the 'Accuracy Alert!' feature needs to be verbose rather than succinct.

Oh the heresy of humanism. It is the hand that the banana has formed to make its perfect seed extraction and fertilizer fuel loader .
This lead to the next great work for the banana…to bring into existence a seedless banana and then clone up trillions of them. Bananas not human gene splicers

It is at that. Though, and maybe it's just my poor understanding of the English language, but the "is indeed factual" seems to like it agrees with the statement being fact checked.

But, the following sentences seem to imply that that phrase means that it's true that he's said that. 1/2

I wonder if that has to due with not using an exact quote of his argument or a similar argument without the "commentary". 2/2

It’s the way the question is asked. The statement that Comfort has made the claim is factual. The validity of the claim he’s making is technically a different question, though it gets at that a little too.
