And yes, the rich & powerful are absolutely shielded from justice, which is a travesty we all must fight against, every day – rather than throwing up our hands & saying "It's rigged! There's nothing we can do!"

But just regular crimes committed by regular people can take years to prosecute.

People I know IRL & on here often say "TFG's going to get away with everything; he'll never be held accountable." I can see how you'd think that, given all the awful shit he's done & not paid for. But justice works slow...and he's just now in his 1st criminal trial. You still need to give it time.

A byproduct of watching more crime tv than is normal (or healthy) is learning that the criminal justice system can move slowly, for all types of criminals—not just the rich ones. But even the rich and powerful eventually face consequences.

The sad part is that the poor tend to be locked up all the time they're awaiting trial.
