I have a serious question. Four states are passing constitutional amendments providing that only U.S. citizens can vote. I don't see a problem with that, but clearly there is an argument to the contrary. Can someone help me understand why there is something wrong with that?

It's unnecessary as law and is being done to sustain the narrative that Democrats are stealing elections by soliciting votes from undocumented immigrants.

"Non-citizens, including permanent legal residents, cannot vote in federal, state, and most local elections."

Thank you so much. You cleared that up so succinctly and I now completely understand.
