Hey gang. Any advice on how to track down a Lis Pendens against a property?
I trust this place so I’ll ask here. :)

I work at a Title Company and have been in real estate for 34 years. To be valid, a Lis Pendens must be recorded in the County Property Records that the property is located in. These records are PUBLIC and available online. All liens are PUBLIC, as are Property Deeds.

Definitely a trip to the court house. Many of them are online but you usually have to pay a small access fee. I know our local court house will actually help you find what your looking for. They charge a whopping twenty-five cents for each copy that you'd like them to make.

Not sure if a FOIA is necessary but in Illinois it's filed as a public record with the county clerks office. I would also think that a title company could pull it.
