Iris Cummings Critchell was not only a World War II WASP pilot, she was a US swimmer in the 1936 Olympics. And at age 103, she is the last known survivor of those games.

As a WASP (Women Airforce Service Pilots), she flew military aircraft in a variety of non-combat roles Among other aircraft, Iris was qualified to fly the P-38, P-51, and P-63 fighters. She was a champion air racer after the war, and an award-winning flight and aeronautics instructor.
