My 15 year old shih tzu needs some teeth removed and I'll do anything for my babies, but oh boy is it pricey! The quote is $2500-$3400... 😳

My 11y/o Shih Tzu had his remaining 4 teeth removed in Dec and my vet’s estimate was $1,500-$1,800 but I had it done at the Humane Society for $600. My 2y/o Westie broke a molar last month and the vet quoted $1,650 - $1,850 for the extraction. I found a “low cost vet” for $800. Call around.

It's wild how much it all costs! I understand some of the cost, for sure, but it can make pet ownership unattainable for a lot of people, too. I have 3 little ones (i inherited one & she's amazing!) and they're all seniors (15, 15, and 16) so things are pricey for me but I'll spend whatever it takes

I also have three little ones and have always spent whatever it took to care for them. However, my vet practice was bought out by a big chain and their prices are now exorbitant and I retired 2 years ago. The care my dogs got at the Humane Society and low cost clinic was excellent.
