After dealing with this for 8 yrs at my house, I came up with my own solution. I tore every last one of them out today.

**Boxwood bushes smell because they release oils when the sunlight hits them.

The strange, urine-like odor is most common in English Boxwoods in the spring when the boxwood is growing.

There are feral cats in the neighborhood and it smelled like every single one of them was spraying these bushes.

You can smell it too???
I swear I’ve been out walking with people and have been bowled over by the stench yet they say they can’t smell a thing.

OMG it was a foot off of my pool deck where the fence is. Every year everyone complains that feral cats were using that as a place to spray. Today I was out just cleaning around the pool for Memorial Day and the stench was over whelming. They are now all out and going to a recycle center.

Oh yeah, they stink naturally, all on their own 😝
No way would they survive around me. Too bad, they make such nice hedges…
