Such a great community asset.

Our local community garden sends their harvests to area shelters and food banks. They want to do more if they could get more volunteers.

Very cool. All 40 beds at the community garden Taproot runs are full, which might be a first! 10 beds are being used by a group that works with veterans. https://www.taprootnh.org/lancaster-community-garden

That's great. We rent the beds out (super cheap, with need based scholarships) to individual gardeners or orgs. We do keep 6 to grow for our food access program to donate to pantries, senior housing, shelters, etc. Also do gleaning, SNAP discounts on veggies, a free low income CSA, etc.

Our community garden has kind of fallen apart since the departure of a very good manager last year. I liked buying veggies from them the last couple years. Best prices in town, and picked while I waited.

Our area does the same! It's a wonderful resource and a lovely thing to do.
