Wow! I just watched Milk for the first time. I did not know the story (or so I thought). I was in Junior High when it happened. But, as the credits rolled telling the prologue, the killer's defense was the "Twinkie Defense" which I did remember. How is it that Harvey Milk is not talked abt more?

I definitely agree that Harvey Milk should be talked about more. During the early Obama era he had a Renaissance as "community activism" was a big thing they were feeding into the machine and Harvey was one of the faces of it. He also got a forever stamp in that time as well I believe.

If he would've lived into the AIDS era I believe he would've been talked about even more as so many of his friends and contemporaries went into AIDS activism work, as he would've, since San Francisco's gay community was ravaged by the virus.

Yes, no doubt. As I watched, I didn't know the timeline and how/when it would end. His partner Scott died from HIV complications and Cleve is still active with AIDS awareness. How bizarre is it that City Hall had a metal detector in the 70s and Sen Feinstein was present?

Senator Feinstein was a good friend of Harvey's and honestly lucky she wasn't on Dan White's hitlist as they interacted that day. Also, I swear that woman has held every office California has to offer except Givernor.
