Like my cohort of White people, I'd never heard about the Tulsa massacre until Watchman. But when I started researching for an article, I was dumbfounded.

There were so damn many massacres! Year after year. How could I not have heard about Wilmington, for example? https://tinyurl.com/3mp737...

In response to Nathan Standing.
There's the Tulsa massacre (1921), of course, and Rosewood (1923). And Ocoee (1920), Red Summer (1919), Elaine (1919), East St. Louis (2017), Atlanta (1906), the Wilmington Insurrection (1898), Colefax (1973), New Orleans (1966), Memphis (1866), and more.

I had to stop. It hurt my soul too much.
