ROMAN TRIVIA: the word 'trivia' derives from the Latin tri (three) viae (roads) - where three roads meet. Busy intersections where people might share the news and gossip of the day. Its adjective form 'trivialis' meaning public, commonplace, also gives us our word 'trivial'.
