Journalists realize that they must walk a fine line concerning reporting news, people need to understand that Journalists are not gate keepers of the flow of information to the general public, Journalists merely inform the public as to what society is talking about. Sincerely, Monica Andrews

Unfortunately too many journalists think they are stenographers and bend over backwards to “both sides” rather than simply state the truth. That along with clickbait headlines is ruining news. Eg “Trump falsely claims election was rigged” vs “Trump lies about election being rigged”

You make excellent point, unfortunately many people lack adequate understanding that Journalists do not control the public's conversations; Journalists witness people on social media platforms doing exactly the same thing that you accuse Journalists of doing.

That is true. I suppose I hold journalists to a higher standard because they have been trained to read between the lines.

Journalists should be held to a higher standard, real issue is that Journalists have to be able to articulate public sentiments; what the people are discussing is the news, there are many news angles to a given story, they are all equal important. Sincerely, Monica Andrews
