I have so much shit in my apartment that I just no longer want but can't throw away because it's terrible to throw away things of use. I'm thinking of having a yard sale and just charge $3-5 for everything so it can sell. Does that sound like a good plan?

Yes! I also recommend checking to see if you have a local "Buy Nothing" group. It's so nice to know that your stuff will get a second life. (Unless you're wanting to make money, then of course a yard sale is the way to go.)

I wanna see if u can make some money first. I live in one of those gentrified neighborhoods where people leave stuff out all the time and folks partake. It'll be like dishes, toys, shows. They'll go like hotcakes.
