CALL TO ACTIVISM

If we prosecuted Nixon, it might have set a tone, and Iran-Contra wouldn’t have happened.

If we prosecuted the Iran- Contra criminals, maybe Bush would have been afraid to lie us into war.

If we don’t punish Trump now, he’ll invite worse.

No tolerance this time.

If that was true, the death penalty would deter murders. Fact is, sociopaths don't learn from consequences and commit the same crimes over and over as soon as they're out of prison.

Again, if punishment deterred crime, we'd no longer have criminals, but the human psyche doesn't work that way. Trump would still have done what he did.

We'll never eliminate crime, of course. That doesn't mean it should go unpunished

While the Dem leadership kept being 'nice', Rs kept breaking laws for decades and here we are

What you call "too nice" is commonly known as respecting the rule of law and due process. If you want Republican tactics, you want to be fascist.

Sociopaths may not, but they're not the only audience. People who are asking themselves whether to risk prosecuting future criminals? Whether they should go along when the boss tells them to break the law, or refuse? Asking whether justice in America is real or a lie? They're the audience too.

You have a point, but the other part of it is that it's a lot of the same people, I don't mean metaphorically, I mean Cheney and Rumsfeld were in Nixon's cabinet, before they went on to skullduggery under Reagan and Bush. There are a lot of such people. William Barr!

It doesn't matter. They are sociopaths who don't understand the concept of consequences, thus can't learn from them. They'll never take responsibility for their actions, and go right back to the same behavior.
They feel entitled to do what they do and if they're taken out of commission, the next cr
