“The report states current training they witnessed ‘teaches officers their lives are worth more than the lives of community members,’ officers are taught an ‘us against them’ mentality, and the report claims officers are taught how to ‘justify or even cover up police brutality.’”

Further public exposure of the malignant narcissism that infects so much of our society. A necessary and very good step. We can help accelerate the process by accepting the reality of it and increasing our understanding of the opportunities before us.

"Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6" is what I have heard said which is total BS when your damned job is supposed to be protecting all of the public

As a society we do not pay police, fire, EMS, teachers enough but hold these professions to very high standards without providing enough education & support.

Appalling! I knew a woman who was married to a detective (suburbs, not Chicago). He seemed like a nice guy, but he called criminals "dirties" and sent her photos of crime scenes. She drove like a maniac, knowing that she wouldn't be ticketed, due to being married to an officer. Privilege.
