Growing up Jewish, I knew what it was like to hope that when a crime happened, it wasn't done by another Jew. The desire to stay below the radar and prove that Jews were not what bigots portrayed us as was strong. But now I'm older and know that no single person is a monolith. (1/2)

O hell yes! Remembering my mom freaking out when Lee Harvey Oswald was shot by a Jew.
I guess I incorporated that mind set. It’s getting easier to see a criminal who is Jewish as not representing all of us. Like Steven (ugh) Miller.
