SCOTUS DGAF about this, but if all the judges who may eventually be nominated to SCOTUS have to follow these rules in the lower courts, maybe we have a better future.

I honestly don't know how they will react to this. They've gotten away with so much for so long already. But you're right, if judges in lower courts follow these rules, it's a good thing.
Getting free trips, etc., is ridiculous for govt employees that control justice - who gets it, who doesn't.
