The BBC responded to my complaint about Justin Webb's transphobia and smear of Stonewall.

The response was gaslighting whitewash trying to brush it under the carpet. I've followed up pointing out that Webb claimed they split for other reasons.

Not much hope, though.

Justin was responding to a tweet from Steve Chalke, who had just been a guest on the Today programme, in which he referenced statistics regarding the rate of bullying, self-harm and suicide attempts by young people considering gender transition. He questioned the source of the statistics in a complex area, and highlighted that they have been challenged in the past, pointing to one example from Transgender Trend. However, as Justin alluded to, it is worth noting that other outlets, such as Full Fact, have also previously challenged Stonewall’s findings in a similar way:

Justin was not stating that the statistics have been disproved, but simply acknowledging there has been some challenge about the figures.
He also referenced the Samaritans media code, which says “Speculation about the ‘trigger’ or cause of a suicide...

Here is my response.

Now we wait another few weeks for the next stage of the whitewash I expect.

Justin Webb's transphobia and slander of Stonewall
If it was inappropriate for the BBC to closely work with Stonewall due to impartiality concerns - why is Webb allowed to portray the reason as being due to Stonewall lying about statistics rather than due to the perception of impartiality?
He directly says "worth saying publicly the BBC and other responsible organisations cut their ties with Stonewall because of this kind of claim".
That doesn't say the BBC cut ties due to impartiality concerns. It is a direct accusation that Stonewall's statistics were somehow falsified.
Surely if the perception of impartiality is important, then that applies both to pro and anti sentiment?
Webb's comments made it very clear that he is not impartial and given his senior position that is highly concerning.
Additionally, you fail to address the point that his first and only reference was to Transgender Trend. A known anti-trans hate group.
