It’s a horribly powerless feeling to have to trust a bunch of angry and armed and racist white men to not murder my children.

It’s stifling.

My kids have to wait for an “all clear/safe to exit” sign when there’s a fire drill …to give time for staff to confirm the drill is not a gun-related hoax. That’s so warped and sickening. Arming teachers is definitely not the answer.

It’s already awful that kids have to worry about being murdered at school, but they are constantly reminded of it every time they do active shooter drills.

I even bought my kids the sharpest scissors I could find for school and got him supplies that could be used as weapons in an emergency.

I sincerely feel for you. My 3 girls are all grown, but I would have felt paralyzed with fear at the time. Actually, I am for all of our school children.❤️
