Excellent idea. But it's not just the government we need to worry about.

A national chain of bookstores I won't name has removed all the sections of non-Christian spirituality books, and all paranormal books, from my local brick-and-mortar. As a result, I no longer shop there.

Wow. That is terrible. I know they are creating free online banned book sites all over the Web. I'm old fashioned, I still like libraries and book stores.

I loooooove bookstores and libraries.

Our library was awesome until the pandemic hit. Now they've stripped it. They no longer carry any of the kinds of books I used to read there, and they removed half of their internet-access computers. They also cancelled Drag Queen Story Hour.

I spend at least 3 days a week in the library. Some browsing, some reading. If we get a Republican governor in Louisiana, we will be next with book banning and empty libraries.

We received a respite from Republican leadership here, but it's a tightrope act. Last election, we put in a Dem Congresswoman for the first time in 14 years.

But we only managed to do that because the MAGAs were at odds over their two candidates, and couldn't get a majority for either one.
