It's interesting to me how the phrase "pre-pandemic" has come to mean "Back in the days of our innocence when we knew some humans were kinda crappy but didn't realize just how profoundly, absurdly shitty half the people actually are, and also nobody washes their hands".

Having been around them for 40 years, I actually can. Most of them are Boomers who thought that nuclear war or Rapture would have taken care of them before they got old. Since the latter wound up happening, they want to burn it all down for everybody.

That makes sense. While I'm technically a Boomer, I'm a late Boomer ('61) and identify way more with GenX. However, my oldest brother is 15 years older and this describes him to a T (and yes, he's a Trumper). He's always been a dick but he's gotten so much worse as he's aged.
