The Senate Judiciary Committee asked John Roberts to investigate Clarence Thomas?!

Could someone please tell the Senate Judiciary Committee that they have this thing called “subpoena power” and can investigate Thomas themselves?

Stop pretending the Court can police itself.

And who would enforce the subpoena? We saw just how well the House Jan 6 Select Committee's subpoenas were adhered to. Who was taken into custody?

Can you imagine the Senate's Sergeant of Arms arresting a sitting Justice for failing to appear?

Dick Durbin needs to be replaced on the Judiciary Com, Chuck S needs to go hard at all of this and Durbin is not the man for this time

Precisely no one can be replaced on the Senate Judiciary committee before 1/25. Not even if they die in office & are replaced in the Senate. Replacement won't get the seat on Judiciary, nor will ANY other Dem senator. GOP will 100% filibuster ANY Dem not already on the committee being assigned to it

Roberts? He's almost as corrupt as Thomas. Both of them have wives who are using their husbands position for powere and money.

What do they think Roberts is going to do? He's been in charge all along while this blatant corruption was going on... Basically the Judiciary Committee is saying: Hey, Fox, check out that problem in the henhouse.

This "supreme" court is supremely flawed,
and definitely needs oversight!

Would be fun to see if SCOTUS ignores a subpoena.

The Senate should have already begun an investigation, perhaps parallel to one by DOJ, into Ginni.

Senate Democrats should subpoena both Harlan Crow and Clarence Thomas, and the DoJ should haul Ginni Thomas in for questioning.

Stop worrying about “norms” that Republicans don’t give a hoot about.

As I mentioned to someone yesterday, this is the Senate 1) giving Roberts a chance to save face. "Do it, or we'll do it for you," plus 2) giving him enough rope to hang himself, and 3) preventing accusations of stepping in prematurely without giving him the chance to correct it.

What options exist that don’t permanently damage the court? A senate investigation has no teeth, but could humiliate Thomas. A criminal investigation would be catastrophic for everyone. He’s hoping to wait it out and let people forget.

It’s ideal for everyone if he resigned, but he wont.

We've already seen what a #scotus investigation of #scotus looks like: Investigator told NOT to interview the Justices, only othe court employees to protect likely two-time leaker #InJusticeAlito . #ChiefInjusticeRoberts is an ethics fraud, no better than the most corrupt scum on the bench.

This is how I feel about Roberts and the illegitimate court he presides over.
