During her swearing-in ceremony, Makenzie Lystrup took the oath on Carl Sagan's 'Pale Blue Dot' instead of the Bible. She has now become the first woman in NASA's history to become the director of Goddard Space Flight Center.

Awesome. For some it might be bothersome that it wasn't a Bible. For others it would be as if she swore an oath on a book of fairy tales instead of Sagan's wonderful book. 🌸🥰

If you do not believe what is in the book, there is really no moral weight to ensure you will fulfill your obligations or promises. She is swearing her oath on what she believes, this is her truth, which is key to the idea. A bible would be inappropriate for a non Christian.
