Constantly referring to "the wisdom" of "The Founding Fathers" or (even worse) "The Founders" (gag) with the reverence of the Old Testament God is patriarchal and cultish. It's using long-dead, rich, white, slave owners as religious figures for a present-day grab power grab.

Funny story...that's actually the premise of the game Bioshock Infinite, that founding fathers worship.

Discovery channel features a show called "The Jefferson Bible" or something similar. It explains how the writers of the Constitution had no intention of invoking the Bible & mixing religion into this new nation. Jefferson was a Deist, not a believer in any organized religion.

They had some very good ideas, and some not-so-good ones. Intelligent and cultured men of Enlightenment-era breed, but hardly worthy of any kind of deification (as they'd be the first to tell you.)
