I’d love to have a real substantive discussion about food stamps. You may or may not be aware, but everyone receiving them has been getting extra for the past two years due to the COVID emergency clause. That goes away this month.

2/3: Normally, when SS goes up, the food stamps amount goes up too, but the federal government has yet to do that this year. It’s a real conundrum. We need to call our Senators and Congresspeople and make them aware this will be a crisis without action.

3/3 Although SS payments increased by 8.7% this year, that increase had now decreased the food stamps for many people/families, and so many find themselves with deductions of as much as 75% of their food stamps. Food inflation has not abated, so what are they to do?
