Classic movie #23 : Around the world in 80 days (1956)
Based on the book from Jules Verne, an amusing adventures film, with both David Niven and Cantinflas splendid on the main roles, taylormade for them. And big number of 'cameos' from other great stars 🌍

The director Michael Anderson died five years ago this coming Tuesday at age 98. Terribly underrated director. If you ever get a chance, watch his Chase a Crooked Shadow (1958)... but read NOTHING about it beforehand! Seriously... NOTHING. If any film needs a spoiler warning, this is it.

The TCM channel aired this last month and I had never seen the original version before...this was the original version...correct? I liked it....HOWEVER...I loved the PBS' version best.

Yes, this was the first and more famous one. Which is the PBS version ? Pierce Brosnan's ? Jackie Chan's ? There has been a lot of versions on tv and film, and animated too. Thanks for your comment 💚
