I can't believe the A's abandoning Oakland isn't more of a story. #baseball media seems to be talking more about Scherzer getting suspended than a historic franchise being ripped out of it's city by John Fisher, rich GAP baby?

It's certainly a story here in the Bay Area. As an A's season ticket holder for 15+ years, I think a lot of national writers have greatly exaggerated the "dilapidated Coliseum" angle - and have assumed the team was going to LV since the A's first announced they were looking at the option.

The hopes of A's fans now rest on Fisher being so inept that the Vegas deal falls apart - and he's certainly inept enough for that to happen! - and for Nevada legislators and their constituents to wake up to the terrible deal they'd be getting for their money, also possible but less likely.

A stadium that 10 years ago they could/should have torn down and rebuilt BUT John Fisher kept fighting with Schott (if memory serves, you would know) over it. Best of luck to you and your fellow A's fans.
