It's a 🚩for me when someone says "Think of the children" when we are talking about things where other vulnerable groups are involved. Things like wearing a mask or 2SLGBTQ rights (the 2S goes first on stolen land) or critical race theory. Thoughts?

I usually argue that I am thinking of the children all of those things make the next generation better healthier and more open to the world around them. All things we should want for our children.

Right? Like why are "the children" more important than people who are actually at risk when it comes to these things. And why don't they understand that 2SLGBTQ adults were also 2SLGBTQ children? And that children are also immunocompromised? It's so disingenuous of them.
