This is absolutely OBSCENE. Nobody can live on minimum wage working 40 hours per week in the U.S. I’m saying this for EVERY State in the Country! 😝🙄🤦‍♀️☮️

Robert, my understanding is that the Minimum Wage laws were originally intended to create a base wage level such that full time work could support a family, and that the Minimum Wage was to be adjusted to that standard

When did that correlation stop?

Clearly a long term strategy to concentrate wealth in the hands of a privileged few for the conceivable future. And soon enough we'll arrive at the point where adjusting the minimum wage to where it should be i.e. commensurate with the cost of living, will be "catastrophic" according to "experts".

Shameful! I was making $6.75/hr working part time in a department store while in college. That was 1986-89. I wouldn’t even be able to afford to put gas in my car if that was now.

I wrote my thesis from Northwestern on Minimum wage

The problem now becomes these giant leaps to catch up, if minimum wage went up with CPI every year, businesses wouldn’t feel it at all. It would be tied to inflation

By the time it jumps it will need to be $20 an hour

It’s like water/gas rates

Second, it's great to see you here!

Smh! How is the right?? People of this country should not have to struggle to live on this wage to support themselves or family.
