How many of those parents so excited to ban books in Florida are checking their child’s internet history regularly?

As a former middle school teacher, I can tell you that students are seeing way worse things on the internet than anything they are potentially reading from their school library.

I am a retired teacher. I can definitely say what the kids see on their phones is far worse than any banned book they might read. Parents never believe their kids would do that though.

I don't understand why a parent would want school to censor what their child reads. Afraid they will find out something the parents are against? Have they HEARD of the internet? I'm glad I'm old and won't suffer under the thumb of the ignorant children currently being raised by zealots.

Tik Tok alone has toxic content to say nothing of Instagram. It's sad to walk into a Barnes & Noble and see a table loaded with books marked "Banned Books".

The real question is how many of them can actually read books?

But you’re right.
