Amazing how its wing as it flies is more horizontal than the eagles we have here which is more of a V-shape.

Perhaps that’s just perspective? The back sound hum is car traffic. This little park I’m standing in is small. Houses surrounding it! But there are ponds and lakes and ocean an easy flight away for an eagle.

It must feel safe enough and there’s plenty of prey for it to be in such proximity to human habitation.

Yes on the plenty of prey. There are spots where they regularly restock ponds or lakes for fishing. Ospreys and eagles have learned this! But also they are enforcing a bit more inre protection of these birds. Enough? No. But def more than before.
