I believe we can do it here.

But I also believe we have to stop comparing the U.S. to Scandanavia. First, the population is mostly homogeneous so they rarely hate their neighbor. Second, and most important, Finland has a population of 5.5 million. There are 330 million people in the United States.

All valid points. On the other hand, the amount of money spent in policing the unhoused, rousting them, trashing their few possessions and traumatizing them could be better spent on giving them shelter and helping them to fix their situation. It would be cheaper.
