Ugh, that just seems like an awful lot of application writing and fees. I applied to 3 schools, wrote one bullshit essay that I could use for all applications and $120 app fees ( this was 1994 dollars) and got scholarships to all. That was enough work for me. But, u do u.

I have mixed feelings bout these stories too which seem to pop up regularly with different names Our reaction is supposed to be "isn't he/she amazing?" Mine is, even though it's easy to apply to so many schools, is it a good idea? How can you vet them to find the best fit for you?

Amazing and hard earned opportunities!
I am wondering... (I don't live in the U.S.)
1. Why apply to 125 schools? Is there a reason? Why not just apply to where you really want to go?
2. Does the scholarships total matter? Do you not just collect on the one(s) from the school that you choose?

And yes - when they pick a school they will only get the scholarships to pay the school bills.

If the student was an athlete and did an NIL deal they can make more money than just the school bills.

I think these are showoff stories intended to elicit gasps of admiration. I doubt most top students go to this trouble.
