Newt Gingrich pioneered, in 1995, the idea of using a 1917 debt ceiling law to beat the crap out of Democrats. But it’s almost certainly unconstitutional. Will Biden call their bluff? Will the Supreme Court support him?

A debt default would be catastrophic. Markets crater, millions lose their jobs, and vital services come to a screeching halt. We don't need popcorn, we need action. Call your members of Congress (202-224-3121) and demand they pass a CLEAN debt ceiling bill now!

Anyone who has read Stephanie Kelton's book or who understands the concepts of MMT know that this whole thing is stupid. What the GOP is trying to do is recreate 2012 and especially 2016 through austerity and propagate the thought that government only works for the few, not all of its citizens.
