It's the protocol they are using. I hope they change the blocklist in the future, because a public blocklist can definitely be weaponized against users.

The option of sharing specific block lists might be useful on the other hand; so a personal block list and the ability to share a separate one (up to and including the ability to share the capability to add people to it).

Heartily agree. I blocked someone the other day -- publicizing this defeats the purpose of protecting oneself from unpleasant people, doesn't it?
