For months, Rep. Greg Casar and I have been pushing for more funding to support San Antonio's migrant services.

Today, we got word that FEMA is allocating $38 million for Catholic Charities of San Antonio, the City of San Antonio, and United Way of San Antonio to support their vital work.

I suspect it's a teaspoon emptying the ocean in terms of what's needed and I hope it's the start of bigger and better humanitarian efforts for people whose only 'crime' is to risk everything to give their families a better life and a safer future.
Just like those who braved oceans centuries ago.

San Antonio has been a model for the nation in the humane way we treat migrants, and these funds will quickly go to good use ahead of the end of Title 42.
