Two more horses dead. Is this the Kentucky Derby or the Hunger Games for horses?

Somebody called it the Amish NASCAR. They run those horses until they no longer win or place.

And that's only what we're seeing in plain sight on TV. What else is happening to these creatures when we aren't looking?

It was years ago, but from my experience working at the Kentucky Derby Museum for nearly 10 years next to Churchill Downs, and working with their staff a lot, this is HIGHLY unusual. I knew the track superintendent, and knew exactly how the track was constructed, and maintained for safety, etc.

I suspect it has something to do with training, and/or breeding of the horses. With breeding, it's easy to see how genetic bone/joint weaknesses can get passed to foals. Their ankles, and canon bones are vulnerable. There's also a history of doping horses from decades ago, and now Baffert, too.

They need to shut down and investigate why all these horses suffered injury. What is the common denominator? Training? Food? Track? Something else entirely?
