Help with simple things like laundry and food prep and clean up. So they can get to know baby. Kids these days know a lot. Let them guide you on baby stuff. Enjoy!

If you are able, offer to supply things they need: good food to heat, diapers, wipes, books, tiny swaddlers, Wubbanubs, your time-when they need a break. Bigger items like cribs, car seats, strollers, carriers, packnplays, etc., should not be purchased without consulting the parents.

Don’t panic. Sometimes babies just cry. If you need to step away for a second, be sure the baby is in a safe spot, then step away. (Like to the next room or outside, not the next county). It’s ok to feel overwhelmed. Ask for help when you do.
