In 1994, Bill Clinton and a Democratic Congress passed an assault weapons ban. Mass shooting deaths dropped by as much as 70%.

In 2004, George W. Bush and a Republican Congress let the ban expire. Mass shooting deaths have TRIPLED since then and keep getting worse and worse.

Math nerd alert. I completely support the assault weapon ban. Saying that shootings have tripled is true but misleading. 1 - 0.7 = 0.3. (70% reduction)
0.3 x 3 = 0.99 let's say 1.
Shootings tripled only means that shootings are back where they were before the ban 1/2

It's misleading to say "triple" because it implies that's it's worse now than it was before.
And since I KNOW this will be misinterpreted, I will say once again that I'm fully in support of an assault weapons ban. I also fully support safe statistics

I believe that was a Diane Feinstein bill. She may be having trouble now but she was a hero then and endured the murder of Harvey milk and mayor Moscone just down the hall. I will always respect her for what she has done

Some of them carried out by veterans of the illegal, immoral war Bush launched against Iraq. I blame Gore for conceding too easily tbh. Him and Nader voters

A point I screamed routinely when I wasted my time on other social media sites.
