🧅To clarify in this
#OnionWars debate:
I do cook with onions.

I need the flavor
that onions impart
to roast chicken
and the broth I make after.

I can’t imagine making
tomato sauce without them!

It’s RAW onions I can’t abide.

My first husband - yes, I said first - used to love buttered-bread-and-raw-onion sandwiches. Me, I like my onions cooked and/or caramelized. BUT I'll eat them raw in a salad or on a burger, where that's not the only flavor in a bite. Does that make sense?

Yep. Me too. Can't abide raw onion, but use them to cook for flavor. 👍

Cooked are divine. Raw are very healing. My father always said to put a raw onion in a sock around your neck and you won't get sick. We had raw onion sandwiches to prevent colds. I always put raw onions on dishes around my house in the winter to prevent illness. I love raw onions.

Oh, my!

Your Father would have met some resistance from THIS child, or dealing with a sick child in the middle of the night.

Raw onions around the house??
🤢

I can see 🍋🍋 but not 🧅 🧅.

If you soak cut raw onions in cold water for about 25 minutes they will not be as strong/pungent.

I agree! I love cooked onions, particularly caramelized ones. Just not raw!
