They're charging Daniel Penny with second degree manslaughter in the chokehold death of Joedan Neely. His lawyers contend he was "defending himself and his fellow New Yorkers." which everyone in the train car can testify to as bullshit.

I think manslaughter has a maximum of 20 years.

Absolutely. And as a Marine, Penny knew that chokehold was dangerous after just a few minutes and he held Jordan down for 15. That means he knowingly killed him. I'm not sure he'll be convicted, that's why I think they went with a lower charge, make sure has some accountability.
