Ontario provincial PCs more likely saw this as a last chance to do as much damage as possible before they get voted out next election. At least I hope people will understand how important it is to vote!

Putting up with the Tories
I am very interested in stopping sprawl and saving the Greenbelt. I attend rallies, write letters and make phone calls. Even though these issues are my passion there is a larger problem that I spend too much time being angry about. That is the threat to our democracy prepetuated by the provincial PCs. Rather than see that receiving 18 per cent of the vote was a message to smarten up they saw it as a mandate to make massive changes to health care, education and urban boundaries. They refuse to answer questions from constituents, reporters and opposition. They ignore the thousands of people protesting. Many of these changes they promised repeatedly to not make. Our only recourse is to continue to fight and hope that eventually our elected government hears us. I can't believe we have no recourse until the next election. Sadly change will depend on the disengaged electorate showing up in greater numbers than usual. Martha Howatt, Hamilton
