I keep thinking about all the lessons we could have learned from the pandemic, but didn't.

Mostly thinking that we should have realized our connectedness, and that could have made us care more for one another. And yet it feels like there is more animosity rather than more compassion.

One huge lesson I think people miss is how white supremacy played a huge role in how we viewed helping. Many were fine with Black and brown people dying and people with compromised immune systems.

yeah who knew all it would take is a few month of quarantine to utterly break ppl and nullify the social contract of behaving with some decency in public spaces.

I sincerely do not get it.

The one thing that came immediately to my mind when you mentioned this, is how nature and surroundings IMPROVED without humans around (pollution, letting vegetation grow back, etc.)
