Here's one that I missed and promptly blundered away my queen. I played Nh3+, not realizing that after 2. gxh3 gxh3+ my queen was hanging. There is, however, a stunning knockout in this position. What should I have done?

HINT: if you've done a lot of tactics puzzles, you've seen this pattern before. It shows up in real games!

ANSWER:

It turns out that 1... Ne2 is a forced checkmate. If 2. Kh1, just Rxh2. If you capture the knight with the Queen:

2. Qxe2 Bxh2+ 3. Kh1 Bg3+ 4. Kg1 Rh1+! 5. Kxh1 Qh4+ 6. Kg1 Qh2#

A long, forced, should-have-been-familiar pattern. Missed it.
