I banged my head on the desk, just missing the keyboard this time. I know I was close cuz a key clicked when my hair landed on it. The June deadline was coming fast. I reached for my cup. No, not a glass, a cup- a 30 ounce steel cup holding a whole bottle of wine- & a straw. #ThreadChallenge

I took a couple of sips of Riesling, closed my eyes, & let the cool wine swirl around my teeth & tongue, & enjoyed the faintly sweet fruity drink. I had 2 weeks to come up with something- anything- & my thinker was bone dry & the wine lubricant wasn’t helping a bit. #ThreadChallenge

“I didn’t call nobody.” I lifted the cup, poked myself in the nose with the straw but got it to my mouth for 1 more swallow. “Who are you?”

I decided to ignore this figment of my imagination, took my cup & went to refill it. The house was empty. Husband & kids gone out. The intruder alarm was still set. I got back to my office, breathed a sigh of relief & closed the door. The figment was gone. Wow, that was weird. #ThreadChallenge
