Anything created, produced, generated, written, broadcasted, in part or in whole, whether it’s music, film, art, policy, advertising, contracts, etc. must have an ‘AI’ designation. The consumer should choose if they want to spend their 💵on AI/non-AI services & products. Thoughts? Or, are we doomed?

Not just for consumers. That would protect artists. My eldest is an artist and had an entry into a competition rejected because they thought it was AI. If you can't tell the difference how do you know who to believe? What kind of proof would be sufficient to prove authenticity?

Using the term consumer as it relates to the economy (it will play a part in the economy & only the way to get attention of legislators). There’s software that analyzes the code to make that determination, I believe.

Having credentials for a digital piece, plus history of alteration/edits, seems to me the only way forward. In the art world, provenance is a core concept. At this point, we should not trust (regardless of medium) any work that doesn't show a verifiable origin and history (whether AI or otherwise).

Well-said. You filled a gap in my arm-chair philosophy. 🙏🏽

This is an absolute must. AI art isn't art, and I will never knowingly spend money for it when actual humans invest blood, sweat, and tears into their creative output.

We are doomed. Stephen Hawking warned us about AI before he died, and no one listened.

I like it. With “subject to fraud penalties” if you don’t.

This is probably the only route forward that protects real creators, and the general public. If it becomes a law, it needs to have teeth to keep bad actors at bay. Prison time for violations.

Agreed! BTW, does that prison time look like that from Minority Report? Because it’s coming, also. https://www.imdb.com/title...

Sadly, I think we're doomed. There's no escaping it.

Like the warning labels or rating system notifications you get on video games, music, or movies.
