Phyllis Wheatley was taken from her home in Africa 7 or 8yrs and sold to the Wheatley family in Boston. The family taught her to read /write, n encouraged her to write poetry when they witnessed her talent. In 1773, she published her 1st poem, making her the 1st AA to be published. She was only 12.

There is an endless, deep, and broad well full of rich history of so many gifts it breaks my heart to consider how many works of science, the arts, and human genius were lost to us forever because of that institution of theft of humans and their labor. It is sickening and unsupportable.
